Dong, a three-handicap golfer, scored a four-under to accumulate 40 stableford gross points. The footballer-turned golfer opted to take the gross prize – the main event of the tournament – according to one player-one prize rule after scoring the best nett points (43).
Dong scored bogey free round making birdies on the sixth, 10th, 12th and 18th holes and all pars to register four-under par. Kanchan Basnyat won the best nett trophy scoring 42 points. The eight-handicap player Basnyat also scored a hole-in-one on par 3 fifth. He made bogeys on eighth and fifteenth hole and double-bogey on second hole but the hole-in-one and all pars vaulted him to two-over.
Ang Dorjee Sherpa scored 37 points and finished runner-up in the nett category on count back after he was tied with Col. Bikash Shah. Sherpa scored 18 on the back nine and Shah had 17.
Elizabeth Schapendonk was the best lady golfer with 30 points edging Rekha Ghimire by two points. Shah won the best front nine award with 20 points and Kishan Agrawal had best back nine (19). Rene Vijay Einhaus bagged longest drive, Erik Anders Henell won the straightest drive, Dr. Niranjan Sharma got closest to the pin, Capt Norbu Sherpa received most birdies prize and SSP Rajendra Shrestha won most pars award with 10.
