Bhomjan family provided with Rs 1.2 million
The Nepal Sports Journalist Forum (NSJF) on Saturday handed over Rs 1.26 million to the family of deceased sports journalist Suman Bhomjan who had died on April 25 Great Quake.NSJF handed over the cheque to Bhomjan’s father Surendra Bahadur and mother Bimala at his home in Hetauda. The amount was collected with the assistance from several sports organizations and individuals. The International Sports Press Association had chipped in an amount of Rs 500,000, while Rs 100,000 were collected from the National Players’ Welfare Fund. After handing over the cheque, NSJF President Ajay Phuyal said his organization was ready to help the Bhomjan family in near future if they require any.
Bhomjan, an active member in the NSJF, was trapped under the rubble in his rented house in Bhotahity with his body recovered eight days after the massive 7.9 magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal. His house in Hetauda was also completely damaged and needs reconstruction.
