A police team raided a house in Daandakharka village of Kailash Rural Municipality-1, Makwanpur, and seized hashish and marijuana dust—also called kief, with an estimated worth of Rs 10 million on Wednesday.
The house owner, Chandra Bahadur Ghlan, 43, and a second man, whom police identified as Jiwan Tamang, 36, of Gajuri Municipality, Dhading, were also arrested.
The duo was paraded before media at the District Police Office in Hetauda on Thursday.
“Ghlan and Tamang had been buying marijuana and its derivatives in Dhading and selling them to drug dealers in India,” said Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Singh.
Police have recovered 1,035 kg of marijuana and 305 kg of hashish from different parts of Makwanpur in the running fiscal year so far.
Man held with 500 grams opium
Police arrested a man in possession of 500 gm of opium from Sangam Chok in Hetauda Sub Metropolis-2, Makwanpur, on Thursday. The police team, led by Narcotics Control Bureau and the District Police Office in Makwanpur, arrested Hareram Prasad Kushwaha of Parsa following a tip-off. According to the police, Kushwaha was carrying opium concealed in a plastic bag.
