The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) demands stringent action against the criminals who thrashed Radha Chaudhari of Kailali district for allegedly practicing witchcraft.
The goons mercilessly thrashed 18-year-old Radha, a resident of Ghodaghodi municipality-5 of Kailali district, in public. No one came to her rescue.
In a press note released Sunday, NHRC Spokesperson Mohna Ansari said NHRC’s attention was drawn seriously towards the incident that 18-year old girl was beaten.
The government must immediately take action against those involved in this cruel, heinous and detestable act.
Radha is recuperating in Dhangadhi-based Seti Zonal Hospital where doctors are treating her.
NHRC officials visited the hospital and met with Radha. According to the NHRC, her condition is improving.
The NHRC also gathered information by investigating and monitoring the place of the incident.
The perpetrators of the crime have threatened her family repeatedly to deter them from complaining anywhere about the incident.
The NHRC has urged the local police to ensure the security and safety of the Radha’s family and arrest those involved in the crime.
The Human Rights and Peace Society too demands tough action against those involved in beating Radha. “This disgusting act disgraces all Nepalis,” the Society said.
