Film on Nepal-Tibet relations to go on production

Based on the Nepal Bhasa’s literary text Ji Waya La Lachchi Maduni, Him Aandhi will feature four languages—Nepali, Nepal Bhasa, English and Chinese.
According to the organisers, the movie which will be produced with a total budget of Rs 30,000,000, will also draw inspiration from books Caravan to Lhasha by Kamal Ratna Tuladhar and Ji Khanathein Langa Twaa: by Moti Laxmi Shakya. Speaking at the event, chairperson of production company Mahaju Foundation, Om Charan Amatya said, “The story of the movie will revolve around the trade relationship between Nepal and Tibet. Highlighting a ‘very good bond’ that Nepal and Tibet shared, the film will also explore various family relationships and their complexities.”
Him Aandhi will be directed by director Pradeep Khadki, who recently helmed another movie Kritipur: the Legend of Kriti Laxmi, which is being screened at various countries including the US, Britain, and Australia, among others. Speaking about the movie, director Khadki said, “This movie has a local story, but it is targeted for both local and international audience. Hence we will have to pay attention to each and every details to match up the audience’s standard. And, as it is a multilingual movie, we will pay special attention to the language too.”
The movie will feature actors Nikki Maharjan, Sushil Rajopadhaya, Manju Shrestha, and Surajbir Bhayanjankar in the lead roles.
