Exhibition featuring Japanese artists set to open at NAC
Embassy of Japan is partnering with the Japan Foundation to organise an art exhibition at the Nepal Art Council in Babarmahal, Kathmandu.Embassy of Japan is partnering with the Japan Foundation to organise an art exhibition at the Nepal Art Council in Babarmahal, Kathmandu. The exhibition, titled Passage to the Future: Art from a New Generation in Japan, will kick off on Feb 27. The exhibition is a commemoration of the 60 years of bilateral dipolomatic relaitonship between Japan and Nepal.
The exhibition will feature some samples of arts produced in Japan at the beginning of the 21st century. The exhibition will have on display the work of 11 young artists, whose artworks have been garnering rave reviews in Japan and internationally.
The exhibit will feature several forms of artworks such as paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs, and video works. The artworks are primarily the artists’ response to the working of the immediate world they live in and are the reflections of their own personal reality. The exhibition will be inaugurated on Feb 26 by Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Ananda Prasad Pokharel.
The exhibition will open for general public from Feb 27 and will run through March 8.
