Trucks carrying goods from Kerung in China have been stranded at Timure and Rasuwagadhi after the landslide.
Huge boulders have landed on the road, burying nearly 300 metres section of the road.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Phadindra Prasai said the landslide debris could not be cleared with an excavator because there are large boulders on the road.
The local administration have requested the home and the defence ministries for explosives to blast the boulders.
