NAC Airbus tyre bursts during landing at TIA, all passengers safe

There were 150 passengers, including Foreign Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat, onboard the flight 206 that was flying into Kathmandu from New Delhi.
Minister Mahat was returning home after completing his two-day official visit to New Delhi to set the stage for upcomming visit of PM Dahal, which is slated to begin on Friday (September 15 ).
The flights were halted from around 12:50 pm today after the NA plane got stranded on the runway after its rear left tyre burst. The burst also caused some damage on the runway.
All the passengers onboard the plane are safe and have been shifted to the airport terminal.
Airport sources said they are trying to cart the jet to the parking-way from the runway.
The 158-seater plane named Lumbini was fully occupited, sources said. The jet piloted by Captain Bijay Lama was brought to Nepal from Germany on May 1, 2015.
Flights resume after one-hour
Meanwhile, flights resumed at the TIA after disruption for an hour following the incident.
According to TIA Spokesperson Prem Nath Thakur, all inbound and outboud flights were halted from 12:45 pm to 1:48pm.
