At a press conference organized here Tuesday, the newly appointed Attorney General Hari Phuyal instructed Joint-Attorney Generals to avail information to the media persons pertaining to the legal provisions.
Attorney General Phuyal instructed the concerned authorities for the same after the widespread complaints that the OAG, which is mandated to defend the cases in the court on the behalf of government, was reluctant to share important information, including verdict, related to such cases. "Now the OAG will cooperate with the media persons in fully exercising the right to information," the Attorney General said.
Also speaking at the event, Gopal Prasad Rijal, spokesperson at the OAG shared that the implementation of first five-year strategic plan was in the final stage. Similarly, he added that the draft of second five-year strategic was in its last leg and Act on the appointment of government advocate and employees, the terms and conditions and facilities for the same was being revised as per Article 161 of the Constitution.
