NRA delegates agencies for aid distribution

An NRA meeting on Thursday decided to release required funds for the agencies for the purpose. “More than Rs260 million has been released for the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development to be distributed to the quake-affected people in Singati,” said NRA Spokesperson Suresh Adhikari.
The quake victims will get money through the banking channel upon endorsement from the Dolakha District Development Committee.
“We will continue to release budget for the implementing agencies in future,” Adhikari added.
The apex body for the post-quake reconstruction is set to start aid distribution for reconstruction of houses from Singati in Dolakha district on Sunday. The government has already released Rs65 billion for housing reconstruction but the process
has yet to start due delay in damage assessments.
Eleven months have passed since the devastating quake hit the country, killing nearly 9,000 people and destroying hundreds of thousands of buildings across
the country.
