The Bijay Kumar Gachhadar-led Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Loktantrik also joined the protest in several districts.
In Morang district, the MJF-L supporters took out a rally where the participants demanded that the Madhes and Tharuhat states should not be split. They also demanded that the country should be federated into eight provinces.
In Saptari district, the supporters of Madhes parties forcefully shut down the shops and stopped the traffic.
The supporters of Limbuwan Struggle Committee also demonstrated at Dharan in Sunsari district. They have warned of intensifying their protest if their demands are not addressed.
In Janakpur of Dhanusha district, protesters took out a rally carrying sticks. As a part of their demonstration, they put up banners reading “Autonomous Madhes State” at the District Administration Office and several other government offices as well.
The Tharuhat supporters from Siraha district took out a demonstration to protest
the mobilisation of Nepal Army in various districts in the wake of Monday’s riot at Tikapur in Kailali district. They also claimed that police have taken hundreds of Tharu people into custody since Monday.
Normal life has been affected in Sunsari, Saptari, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Siraha and Udayapur districts for the past 12 days due to continuous protests and bandas.
Daily life in Chitwan district was also affected on Thursday due to the banda called by Samyukta Dalit Aadhikar Manch.
In Kapilvastu, the local administration has prolonged the prohibition order till September 2 to maintain security in the district.
In Rautahat, the supporters of Samyukta Madhesi Morcha torched the CPN-UML party office in Gaur on Thursday morning. Witnesses said the protesters doused the UML party office with kerosene and set it on fire.
Madhes leaders spurn talks invite
Meanwhile, the leaders of Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha have said that they cannot sit for dialogue with the government unless the past agreements are implemented.
Speaking at a function in Jaleshwor, the district headquarters of Mahottari, Morcha leaders Upendra Yadav, Mahanta Thakur, Rajendra Mahato and Mahendra Yadav said they will not engage in talks with the government unless the past agreements are implemented.
