They demonstrated at the DAO and the DDC Office since early morning saying they had to spend nights in the open sky due to lack of tents. They vandalised the local government offices following the shortage of food materials, and drinking water.
The irate demonstrators even set fire to the office furniture claiming that the administration remained indifferent to rescue the Yarshagumba collectors stranded in Lamabagar area of the district, and also failed to provide relief.
The administration has not provided any relief support to the locals while people in large numbers have been arriving for food and tents.
Chief District Officer Premlal Lamichhane said the DAO would distribute the relief right after the office received the foods and tents.
