The constitution would be issued through majority basis if the Maoist party is not willing to cooperate, Deuba said during a function at Chisapani in Khotang on Thursday.

The NC leader said that the Maoists were not in favour of constitution as they had failed to draft one when they were at the helm of the government after the first CA election.

Deuba said the NC was making efforts to bring the UCPN (Maoist) on board the mainstream politics, claiming that the main opposition was veering towards non-political line. “If the Maoists do not correct themselves, the public will not spare them.”
