The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Monday filed a case at the Special Court against Nabin Kumar Singh, an engineer at the District Education Office (DEO), Parsa, on the charge of misappropriation of the amount released to the community schools.
A case has been registered against the accused Singh today seeking maximum penalty as the accused Singh was found to have extensively misused the amount provided for construction of school buildings and also failed to show up the related book of expenditures, CIAA spokesman Shreedhan Sapkota said.
It is found through investigation that Singh misused Rs. 550,000 released to the Madarasa Husnul Ulum Community primary school at local Semarbari Siwarba and Rs. 490,000 out of Rs. 500,000 provided to the Madarasa Islamiya Darul Kuran School at Dhobini-6 in the district.
CIAA spokesman Sapkota said action has been sought against Singh in accordance with Clause 17 of the Corruption Control Act, 2059 as it is found that he knowingly committed corruption misusing the amount meant for building construction thereby incurring loss to the schools.
