NE Group doubles size of fund

NE Group said the size of the fund was doubled to support medical treatment of those children whose parents cannot afford expenses due to their poor financial condition.
The fund was set up by Jawahar Devi Shrestha in remembrance of her late husband, Indra Bhakta Shrestha, the founder of NE Group, to assist needy children. The fund is part of NE Group’s corporate social responsibility.
NE Group Managing Director and former president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Rabi Bhakta Shrestha said the size of the fund was enlarged to commemorate the 93rd birthday of late Indra Bhakta.
Late Indra Bhakta is Rabi Bhakta’s father.
Issuing a press statement on Friday, NE Group said it has also set up Indra Bhakta Shrestha Scholarship Fund, with a seed money of Rs10 million. The fund will provide financial support to two students pursuing MBA from Tribhuvan University School of Management per year. The fund will also award ‘Indra Bhakta Shrestha Gold Medal’ to the MBA topper of Tribhuvan University School of Management every year.
