The promoter of the centre, Fresh Hygienic Food Agro and Animal Farming has signed an agreement to purchase pigs 300 farmers of Mid- and Far-western regions. “The meat will also be supplied to the Capital,” said Dipendra Kumar Joshi, managing director of the company.
The meat processing centre purchases pig at Rs 180 per kg. “After we opened the centre, farmers do not have to search market for their animals,” said Joshi. “We purchase the animals at a very good price.”
The centre supplies 400kg meat a day to Kathmandu valley. Farmers from Sitapur, Khajura khurda, Agaiya and Bageshwori supply pigs to the slaughter house.
