Indian Ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae on Saturday inaugurated the newly constructed building for Shree Shiva Saraswati Higher Secondary School in Rishing, Ranipokhari of Tanahun district.

The infrastructure, including furniture and computers, was funded by the Government of India’s grant assistance to the tune of Rs 22.23 million under the Small Development Project scheme. The school, established in 1975, is situated at a remotest corner of Damauli VDC and caters to around 726 students. Out of the total students, 60 percent students are girls. The GoI-funded project is aimed at helping the school meet the increasing need of students from and nearby villages, according to a press release issued by the Embassy of India in Kathmandu.  

Ambassador Rae on Saturday also inaugurated a two-storey library building for Shree Adikabi Bhanubhakta Multiple Campus in Damauli. The library building was also constructed through the GoI’s grant assistance worth Rs 10.9 million.

Various projects being executed or completed under the Nepal-India Economic Cooperation Programme will help the people of Nepal in its quest towards peace, stability, prosperity and equitably development, the release quoted Ambassador as saying.

Similarly, on Sunday, Ambassador Rae inaugurated the newly constructed school building for Shree Janajukta Shahi Higher Secondary School in Nepaltar of Tanahun district. The three-storey building, constructed with the help of the GoI’s financial grant of Rs 32.13 million, includes classrooms, library facilities, administration wings and separate rest rooms for boys and girls students.
