Three houses were swept away leaving two people missing in a massive flood that occurred in Mamkha VDC of Okhaldhunga district on Sunday night.

Thotne River which runs alongside Mamkha VDC-8 and 9 swelled up due to continuous downpour yesterday sweeping houses and over half a dozen suspension bridges along the way.

According to the locals, Awiraj Dahal and Harka Maya Dahal of Mamkha-8 are missing after their house and animal shed were swept away by the flood.

Two teams of Police have been deployed towards the calamity-hit site.

The total report of destruction is yet to come as the police teams are yet to reach the place, informed Police Inspector Baidyanath Yadav.
