Four dead in Sindhupalchok chopper crash
A helicopter returning from Dolakha after distributing relief to earthquake victims crashed in Yamuna Danda VDC in Sindhupalchok district on Tuesday, killing all four onboard, NA confirmedEkantipur Report
The chopper flying at low altitude rammed into a high tension electric line and burst into flames at Shila Parbat Jungle, eyewitnesses said.
There were four people including Captain Subek Shrestha onboard the 9N-AJP chopper belonging to Mountain Air, said Mountain Air Manager Basanta Bhandari.
The deceased has been identified as Captain Subek Shrestha—the flight captain, including two Nepali Dr Sandip Mahat and Sher Bahadur Karki and a Dutch Jessica Wilford, according to Captain Passang Norbu Sherpa of Mountain Helicopters. Shrestha was recently promoted as a flight captain.
A Nepal Army troop from Gorakh Bahadur Battalion has reached the crash site and recovered four bodies—three men and a woman. The deceased includes three Nepali and a Dutch. They are trying to airlift the bodies to Kathmandu.

According to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) acting General Manager Birendra Prasad Shrestha, the helicopter had left for Dolakha from Kathmandu with relief materials. It crashed on its way back to the Capital after transporting the relief materials.
TIA Air Traffic Controller chief Bharat Sharma informed that another helicopter has been dispatched to the site for search and rescue operations.
