Rising temperature hampers life in the plains
Daily life has been badly hit with the temperature rising in the far-western plains including in Kailali district since the past three weeks.Heat wave also known as 'loo' has forced people inside their homes with school children and daily wage labourers severely hit. Markets remained empty with majority of the shops closed during the day.
Furthermore, the Seti Zonal Hospital has been receiving an increasing number of people suffering from diseases like diarrhea and vomiting, fever, dizziness and headache.
Meanwhile, health workers have suggested the locals to take in fluids as much as possible to avert dehydration.
Schools in Kailali, Kanchanpur and other districts in the region are running classes in the morning only since the month of Baisakh.
Rise in relative humidity is the reason behind the rise in the mercury since the past few days, said meteorology assistant at the field office of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology in Attariya, Singal Chaudhary. The maximum temperature recorded on Wednesday was 42 degree Celsius and minimum 24 degree Celsius, according to the office. RSS
