CA court scraps complaint against KC
The Constituent Assembly (CA) court on Wednesday scrapped a complaint against Nepali Congress Solukhumbu candidate Bal Bahadur KC, who was accused of indulging in poll irregularitiesThe plaintiff, UCPN (Maoist) election candidate Gombu Sherpa, charged KC of seizing a booth with the help of the administration.
Sherpa stated that the ballot-counting went ahead without the presence of his agents as they were barred from visiting the stations where ballot boxes were kept for hours. He also complained of a physically challenged voter not
being allowed to be accompanied by a person of choice to assist in casting vote at the Jubu Janakalyan Higher Secondary School centre.
Sherpa alleged that a proxy voter cast the ballot at the Necha Batase Himalayada-rshan Higher Secondary School centre, adding that at least three empty ballot boxes were found at the counting centre. He claimed the District Election Office did not pay heed to the complaints filed by the Maoist party regarding violation of the election code of conduct.
