Women’s Champions League cricket in October
The tournament will have five franchise teamsQueen’s Event Management Pvt on Monday announced dates for Women’s Champions League cricket tournament for October 16 to 24. The tournament will come as a huge respite for women cricketers as the country has not been able to organise national-level cricket due to internal wrangling at the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). The tournament will have five franchise teams—Pokhara Paltan, Chitwan Rhinos, Biratnagar Titans, Lalitpur Falcons and Capital Royals Kathmandu. Participating teams will compete in a round-robin league format and the top two teams will play for the title. The unveiling of marquee players and drafting of players for the city-based franchises have already completed. The management company has successfully organised Pokhara Premier League (PPL) last year.
